OPI DS Extravagance with Swarovski crystals

Hi Everyone! Tempted by a great post on OPI’s Facebook page I ended up buying DS Extravagance recently. What a beautiful colour! Generally I really like OPI’s formula (apart from some light creams) but this one was even better than usual. Very smooth, easy to apply, with two coats ensuring the complete opacity. There is a very fine holographic glitter in the formula which looks great in any type of bright light. I have added a few Swarovski crystals for some more sparkle. In my mind, the final effect is quite appealing! :)

Tiny paws running on Zoya’s Jules

Hello Everyone! As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I bought quite a few of the Zoya polishes recently. I was not crazy about the formula of “Apple” but after applying “Jules” I am starting to understand what the buzz is all about. The consistency of the polish is just right, not too runny or thicks. Colour gets opaque in three coats, possibly two if you apply it to you natural nail (I am always trying to cover my french tip of gel overlay). There is an ultra fine glitter in the formula and the colour is beige/taupe. The finish is not very glossy but this can be changed by using  a high gloss top coat. Once I finished with the polishing and my nails dried, I decided to go ahead with the little stamping on my ring fingers. It came out pretty cute! I even managed to over-stamp which you can see documented below…looks really cute, shame it won’t last…:)

The Beauty of Nubar’s Treasure

Nubar is another one of these brands I have not heard much about before. It may sound weird for a nail polish addict but I lived happily ever after in the world of OPI, having only it and occasionally some China Glaze polishes to worship. I have been introduced to Nubar by some videos on YouTube and I’ve got to say – I am a convert. The nail polish I am showing you today belongs to the Prisms collection and is called “Treasure”. It has a very fine holographic glitter and oposite to Gem, has a smooth and shiny finish. Once again, I am in love. Have a look at the pictures…

Apple by Zoya

I am a keen YouTuber (by the way, did you know that Nail Chronicles has its own YouTube channel? Just type “nailchronicles” in the search box on YT and you will find me!) I have heard a lot of good things about Zoya nail polishes. I am not the one to trust very easily and rely solemnly on opinion of others, but this time I have. The result was me putting a massive Zoya order on Beverly Beaute. It has just arrived today and I got to swatch a few colours and apply one of it to my nails. The colour I chose is “Apple”. It is a green glitter polish which composes of fine glitter in a clear liquid (no colour). I must admit I am in two minds. From one hand the colour is stunning and I love the effect on the nails. From the other the application was dreadful. It took me five (!!!) coats to cover my free edge which made some nails looking a little bit bulky. BUT…I won’t complain. At least not too much. Have a look at the final tresult and I trust you will understand why…

The most beautiful polish in the world – Nfu Oh 51

Hi Everyone! I know that tis story is old and no-one is surprised by this colour anymore (or maybe someone is? :) but I have just discovered what Nfu Oh no. 51 is all about. Let me start from saying that obtaining Nfu Oh polishes in UK is neither easy or cheap. Ok, it is not cheap. If you are willing to pay the price it is quite easy. I first found out about this polish from one of the nail blogs and the picture that were there just blew my mind completely. I had to see this polish in person. After searching ebay, various US and International nail polish supply websites it finally occurred to me that I wont get this polish cheap. Wherever it was reasonably priced the shop did not send to UK. So I took the plunge and ventured to www.nfuoh.co.uk to buy the polish. Because the Opal collection contains many, many colours I must have spent good 30 minutes trying to figure out which ones I want and which will be the most versatile. In the end I settled for number 51 (of course), number 52 and 58. All these polishes are absolutely stunning and can produce many various effects by layering over different shades of purple, orange/red or green/blue. But…enough talking. Have a look at the pictures!

Holographic polish by Nubar – Jewel

Today’s “manicure of the day” features beautiful nail polish by Nubar called Jewel. It is one of these polishes which look best if you are planning to go out and the sun is shining. This is because the holographic glitter shines beautifully in the natural light and will definitely draw attention to your hands. The only downside of the polish is that it leaves a rough surface therefore I would recommend using one or two high gloss top coats to seal and cover all the glitter! :)

The "New French"

Hi Everyone! Here is the “New French” design I have created yesterday. It is sitting on UV gel extensions. The products used are China Glaze Stroll (80316) which is the dark pink/red with red and gold glitter. The colour looks dark pink when applying one coat and turns red on second coat. The tip has been cerated using the new Christmas colour by Orly called Ingenue (40046). The application of both polishes is very easy and I do like both formulas. However, it takes a few coats to et the tip as glittery as desired which may lead to product build-up. I love the colour combination, very Christmasy!
